Quick Hits: November 4, 2022

1) The Flyers held practice on Friday morning at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto before flying to Ottawa in advance of Saturday's game against Claude Giroux and the Senators. The expected goaltending matchup will pit Carter Hart against good friend (and, briefly, a Flyers teammate) Cam Talbot.

"It will be pretty cool playing against G. Like I'm sure a lot of guys on this team, he had a big impact on our careers. It'll be a lot of fun. It's not so weird for us, it's probably a little different for him because he'll be playing against his old team for the first time, so we'll see how it goes," Travis Konecny said to Joe Siville after practice.

2) On Friday's edition of Flyers Daily on the Flyers Broadcast Network, Jason Myrtetus previews Saturday's game. He also discusses the positives and negatives that have presented themselves through the first 10 games of the season: click here.

3) This week's edition of "Friday Forecheck" is complete and will go live on PhiladelphiaFlyers.com this afternoon.

4) Phantoms Update: The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (2-4-1) have a weekend back-to-back in Canada on Friday against the Belleville Senators (3-4-1) and Laval Rocket (2-6-1). Thereafter, the team is off until Next Friday. There is some good news on the injury front: defenseman Cam York dodged a bullet in Sunday's game in Hershey. He appears to be fine, traveling with the Phantoms on the road trip and practicing with no limitations. There seems to be a strong possibility that York could be in the lineup in Belleville.

5) Flyers' 2022 first-round pick Cutter Gauthier, whom the organization projects as a center in the pro game, was moved back left for Boston College's game on Thursday against Merrimack. Gauthier (two goals and one assist through four games) did not record a point in Thursday's game. He did not record a shot goal (two blocked attempts, missed the net on a third) and was minus-one on the night. He did move to the middle to take two faceoffs (0-for-2). Merimack won the game, 3-1. The two teams will rematch on Saturday.

6) Last night, I attended the 2022 Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony for the posthumous induction of legendary Flyers general manager Keith Allen. Blake Allen, Keith's son, gave the acceptance speech on his dad's behalf. Along with much of the Allen family, a group of five Flyers Alumni (Bill Barber, Bob Kelly, Orest Kindrachuk, and the Watson brothers) were on hand for the ceremony as were Lou Nolan and Joe Kadlec.
