Game 28 Preview: Flyers @ Predators

The Philadelphia Flyers (15-10-2) are in Tennesse on Tuesday to take on the Nashville Predators (15-13-0). Game time at Bridgestone Arena is 8:00 p.m. ET.

The Flyers, who will wrap up a three-game road trip, bring a four-game winning streak and a five-game point streak (5-0-1) into Tuesday's game. On Saturday, Philly earned a hard-fought 5-2 road win over the Colorado Avalanche. Travis Konecny notched an even strength goal and a successful penalty shot tally (14th and 15th goals of the season). The Flyers also got single goals from Joel Farabee (10th), Owen Tippett (9th) and Travis Sanheim (3rd). Carter Hart stopped 37 of 39 shots to earn the win in goal.

Ryan Poehling (illness) returned to practice on Monday after missing the two previous games with a stomach flu. He's expected to be back in the lineup for the game against the Predators.

The Predators got off to a tough start this season but have stepped up of late with wins in seven of their last 10 games. This past Sunday, the Predators earned a 2-1 road win over the Montreal Canadiens. Colton Sissons notched power play and even strength goals, while Juuse Saros denied 36 of 37 shots.

The Flyers have been on the road over the past week with a couple of time zone changes but a relatively moderate schedule. Tuesday's game in Nashville will be just the third in eight nights for Philly. The Predators will be playing their fourth game in six nights and their fifth match in the last eight nights. As such, at least on paper, the Flyers have a potential fatigue factor edge.

The Flyers will hold a morning skate, likely an optional, at Bridgestone Arena late on Tuesday morning. Head coach John Tortorella will announce his starting goaltender at that time, along with any lineup changes (most likely, Poehling will return). The coach did indicate that he'll be sticking, at least for the time being, with the same power play units the team has featured over the last six games. Philly has only had a pair of power play opportunities over the last three games.
