Game 5: Flyers @ Predators

John Tortorella's Philadelphia Flyers (3-1-0) are in Music City on Saturday night to take on John Hynes' Nashville Predators (2-3-1). Game time at Bridgestone Arena is 8:00 p.m. EDT.

The Flyers are wrapping up a three-game road trip before returning home on Sunday to host the San Jose Sharks. On Wednesday, the Flyers suffered a 4-3 loss in Sunrise to the Florida Panthers. Nick Seeler (1st), James van Riemsdyk (2nd, PPG) and Travis Konecny (4th, 6-on-5) scored in a losing cause for the Flyers. Felix Sandström made his first appearance of the 2022-23 season in goal for the Flyers. Carter Hart will return to the net in Nashville.

The Predators started out the season in Prague with back-to-back wins over the San Jose Sharks. They are 0-3-1 since returning to North America, as they've seen two-goal leads in the third period slip away in back-to-back games and are off to a 1-for-26 start to the season on the power play.

Phantoms Gameday: 10/22/2022 vs. Cleveland

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (1-1-0) open the home portion of their 2022-23 schedule on Saturday with the first game of a back-to-back set against the Cleveland Monsters (2-1-0). Game time at the PPL Center on Saturday is 7:05 p.m. ET. If you are unable to attend the game, it will be streamed for free (no subscription required) on AHL TV.

Last weekend, the Phantoms received excellent goaltending from Troy Groesnick and Samuel Ersson. The team was otherwise widely outplayed by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Hersey Bears but came away with a 3-2 OT win in the opener (scored by Louie Belpedio, who is now with the Flyers) before a 2-1 loss in Jersey.

Phantoms rookie Elliot Desnoyers has started his AHL career with goals in back-to-back games. Veteran winger Zack MacEwen was also an opening weekend standout and parlayed it into a return to the NHL with the Flyers.
