The Carolina Hurricanes won their only game of the week, as the rest of their games were postponed. Here’s the weekly recap.

THREE OF CAROLINA’S GAMES POSTPONED

The Carolina Hurricanes had three games postponed this week, with their second game against the Nashville Predators and both games against the Florida Panthers being rescheduled. Carolina’s next game is set for Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

SIX HURRICANES’ PLAYERS PLACED ON NHL’S COVID PROTOCOL LIST

Carolina had six players placed on the league’s COVID Protocol list this week: Jesper Fast, Warren Foegele, Jordan Martinook, Jaccob Slavin, Jordan Staal and Teuvo Teravainen.

HURRICANES BEAT PREDATORS IN LONE GAME OF WEEK

In the game that the Hurricanes did play, they were able to pick up a win over the Nashville Predators. Sebastian Aho, Nino Niederreiter, Vincent Trocheck and Andrei Svechnikov each had a goal in the win.

As for this week’s poll questions, here are some of the results, along with my thoughts on how they turned out:

QUESTION: Do you think the Hurricanes will finish ahead of the Predators in the standings this season?

(Votes: 23)

Yes: 65%
No: 35%

There’s not a huge gap between the teams and Nashville could bounce back this season. The teams should be fairly evenly matched, though I would lean slightly towards the Hurricanes finishing higher in the standings.

QUESTION: Are you happy with Carolina’s start to the season?

(Votes: 20)

Yes: 70%
No: 30%

It’s a small sample size but so far, so good. Even in the loss, the Hurricanes outshot Detroit by a pretty large margin.

QUESTION: Who would you rather start next game?

(Votes: 43)

James Reimer: 53%
Petr Mrazek: 47%

Reimer played very well in the win over Nashville and there’s no reason not to go back to him. I still maintain that Reimer may be a better option as a starter than Mrazek.
