The San Jose Sharks have signed forward Daniil Gushchin to a three-year entry-level contract, according to CapFriendly.

Gushchin was selected by the Sharks in the third round of last year’s NHL Draft. He spent the season with USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks, where he scored an impressive 32 goals and 64 points in 46 games. Those numbers had him tied for second in the league in goals and fifth in points. His contract will carry an $850,833 cap hit.

It’s unclear as to what the plan is for Gushchin next season, though it’ll likely be a couple years before he’s competing for a roster spot with the Sharks.
