The Carolina Hurricanes took part in the NHL Prospect Showcase, giving fans an opportunity to get a closer look at some young talent in the organization.

The Hurricanes got off to a rocky start in the tournament, dropping the opening game to the Washington Capitals 10-3. It's interesting to see that Jake Bean and Chase Priskie were paired, as it's one that could potentially happen at the NHL level one day, in theory. Priskie finished the game with a goal and an assist while Eetu Luostarinen and Leif Mattson were the two other goal scorers for Carolina in the loss.

Game 2 was taken over by 2019 first-round pick Ryan Suzuki. The 18-year-old center had a goal and four assists in Carolina’s 7-4 win over Tampa Bay. He finished his day off with a pretty nice move in the post-game shootout as well, seen below.

In Game 3 yesterday against Nashville, the Hurricanes got down early, giving up a 4-0 lead to the Predators by the end of the first period. Carolina did get close with three straight goals, before eventually dropping the game 6-3. Eetu Luostarinen and Janne Kuokkanen each had a goal and an assist, while Ryan Suzuki scored again and Luke Henman, Noel Hoefenmayer, Chase Pritchie and Jacob Pritchard all picked up assists in the loss.

The Hurricanes open their training camp this Friday.
