Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. Here are this week’s poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: How did you feel about Marc-Edouard Vlasic’s performance this season?

(Votes: 67)

Not happy with it: 69%
Didn’t feel strongly either way: 19%
Happy with it: 12%

Vlasic certainly wasn’t a $7 million player this year. In a season where defense was an issue for the Sharks, Vlasic didn’t do nearly enough to help. He’s unlikely to ever get back to top form but hopefully he’s able to bounce back at least to an extent next season.

QUESTION: Which player that the Sharks traded this year brought back the most impressive return?

(Votes: 146)

Barclay Goodrow: 84%
Brenden Dillon: 10%
Patrick Marleau: 6%

“Did the Sharks actually manage to get a first-round pick for Barclay Goodrow?”

That was my reaction when I saw that trade. Sure, he was a key part of San Jose’s depth scoring but a first-round pick? I don’t think many people saw that one coming.

QUESTION: Are you happy with the decision to keep Bob Boughner as San Jose’s full-time head coach?

(Votes: 88)

No: 64%
Yes: 36%

I want to give Boughner a full season as San Jose's head coach before making judgements. That said, it’s clear that many others aren’t a fan of the decision.
