Los Angeles Kings prospects Juho Markkanen and Kasper Simontaival have been named to Finland’s preliminary roster for the 2021 World Junior Championship.

Markkanen was selected by the Kings in the fourth round of this year’s NHL draft. The netminder has split the year between an Under-20 league and Finland’s second-highest professional league.

Simontaival was also selected in this year’s draft and was taken 66th overall by the Kings. The winger has split the beginning of the year between Finland’s highest and second-highest professional leagues.

Neither player represented Finland in the tournament last year, though both have a year of eligibility remaining and can participate next year as well.
