The Los Angeles Kings announced yesterday that they’ve re-signed forwards Carl Grundstrom and Austin Wagner.

Wagner’s extension is three years and carries an AAV of $1.13M. He spent the entire season with the Kings, where he had six goals and 11 points in 65 NHL games. Based on this extension, we can assume he’s probably going to keep a spot in the lineup next season.

Grundstrom, on the other hand, signed a two-year deal worth just above the league minimum, at an average of $725,000 per year. He spent the majority of his season in the AHL and will need to battle for a spot on the team next season, but this deal carries minimal risk with potential for a big reward.

Tomorrow, I’ll post an article giving my opinion on Wagner’s contract and a more in-depth look at what kind of value the deal brings.
