The Los Angeles Kings announced earlier this week that they’ve signed forward Blake Lizotte to a one-year contract extension, worth $800,000.

Lizotte missed time this year due to injury and the league’s COVID protocols, playing in 41 games and scoring three goals and 10 points. However, the 23-year-old forward did have a more impressive points pace in the 2019-20 season, where he had 23 points in 65 games.

It’s unlikely that Lizotte will be protected in the expansion draft but isn’t likely to be selected by Seattle either. It’ll be interesting to see how he fits with the Kings moving forward, as the team continues to integrate young talent into their lineup. Regardless, a one-year deal at just $800,000 is a no-risk deal.
