San Jose Sharks assistant coach John Madden has provided a statement regarding the sexual assault allegations made by former Chicago Blackhawks forward Kyle Beach, against then-video coach Brad Aldrich. Madden was a player on the Blackhawks’ roster at the time of the alleged incident.

In the statement, Madden notes he was contacted by investigators this August and did meet with them. However, he did not share in the statement whether he had knowledge of the incident as a player. Madden declined to take questions from local media.

During Kyle Beach’s interview with Rick Westhead, Beach noted that he believed all players on the team knew of the incident. However, so far, many players from the team have denied having knowledge until later.

Madden was a veteran forward with the Blackhawks that season, playing in all 22 of the team’s playoff games. He has been with the Sharks as an assistant coach since the start of the 2020-21 season.
