While the Carolina Hurricanes opened the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Boston Bruins last night, Hurricanes' management was also active in signing forward Alexander Pashin to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Pashin is 19 years old and was selected by the Hurricanes in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft. At just 5-foot-7, Pashin is an undersized forward who scored 17 goals and 30 points in 34 games this year playing in Russia’s second-highest league.

Pashin’s contract will carry a cap hit of $826,667 and we should expect to see him in the AHL next season.
