*NOTE: Before the game preview, a piece of news to share: Lou Lamoriello has been named as a finalist for the General Manager of the Year Award. He was nominated alongside Julien BriseBois of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Jim Nill of the Dallas Stars and the winner will be announced on Saturday.

The New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning are back in action tonight, for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final.

The Islanders are coming off a brutal 8-2 loss and will need to rebound to avoid falling behind 2-0 in the series.

It’s unknown as to who will start for the Islanders, but in my opinion, they should be going back to Thomas Greiss for Game 2. He’s been very strong in his other appearances so far and he can’t be blamed for any of the goals he allowed on Monday. On top of that, Semyon Varlamov didn’t do a whole lot better after replacing Greiss and certainly didn’t give any reason to give him back the net. In other lineup news, Cal Clutterbuck is a game time decision for the Islanders, after blocking a shot in Game 1.

It’s key that New York plays their game tonight and doesn’t try to trade chances with the Lightning. Tampa Bay's speed killed last game and the Islanders can't allow zone entires so easily this time. They need to get back to keeping shots to the outside and playing a disciplined game if they want to even up the series.

Puck drop is at 8 p.m.
