The Anaheim Ducks have re-signed defensemen Christian Djoos and Jani Hakanpaa.
Both defensemen signed a one-year deal, with Djoos making $1 million next season and Hakanpaa's AAV coming in at $750,000.
Djoos came to Anaheim from Washington at the trade deadline, with the Ducks sending Daniel Sprong back the other way. He played nine games with the Ducks this year, scoring one goal and three points. Prior to joining the Ducks, Djoos had spent the majority of the season with the AHL's Hershey Bears, where he had 32 points in 42 games. He spent the entire 2017-18 season in the NHL, where he played in 63 regular season games and 22 playoff games for the Capitals, on route to the team's Stanley Cup win.
Hakanpaa joined the Ducks last summer, after spending four years playing back in Finland. This year, he had 13 points in 47 games with San Diego in the AHL, as well as one goal in five games for the Ducks upon being called up just before the season was paused.
Here’s today’s poll question:
Are you happy to see Djoos and Hakanpaa re-signed?
