Bryan Marchment, a scout with the San Jose Sharks and longtime NHL defenseman, has passed away at the age of 53.

Marchment was attending the NHL Draft in Montreal, though the cause of death was not released.
Sharks general manager Mike Grier said the following regarding Marchment's passing:
... He cared about everyone. He had time for everyone he came across in the building. For me personally, he was great to me in my first few years in Edmonton. Treated me with respect right away. Made me feel right at home. ... (2/3)
