In 2023, we're most likely going to see Russia host the World Hockey Championships while in 2024 and 2025 competitions will be held in the Czech Republic and Sweden, the president of IIHF Rene Fazel has revealed.

''I suspect that, in 2023, we are heading to Russia and in the next two years the Czech Republic and Sweden should host.'' Fazel said. ''At this point, those are just applications but I think that in the end, that is how it will happen."

The final decision will be made during the annual IIHF congress in Bratislava.

So far we know that in 2019 the hosts will be Slovakia, in 2020 Switzerland will be the host country. A year later Latvia and Belarus will share their honors of hosting it and in 2022 Finland will be the home of the annual event.
