Update: OFFICIAL: The #Flyers have hired Michel Therrien and Mike Yeo to serve as assistant coaches on head coach Alain Vigneault's staff.

Per Renaud Lavoie: "Michel Therrien is back in the NHL. The @NHLFlyers will announce that he will be an assistant coach to Alain Vigneault. Confirmation should come in the next few days."

Therrien last coached in the NHL during the 2016-17 season with the Montreal Canadiens and will join Alain Vigneault’s coaching staff in Philadelphia.

Is this a good move for Philadelphia? As Bill Meltzer states: "Flyers GM Fletcher has gone to polar opposite side of Hextall's Hak hire, when there were zero games of NHL head coaching experience on staff. Now, between Vigneault, Therrien and Yeo there are over 2,500 combined games as NHL head coach and roughly 1,300 HC wins."
