There is certainly no love lost between the San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights heading into Game 7 tonight. The series has been back-and-forth in more ways than one and tonight, we will finally get some closure. There is no doubt that the specific rivalry between these two clubs has made this series so much fun and this afternoon, Golden Knights Head Coach Gerard Gallant only added to the beauty of it.

USA Today Sports

Just one day removed from their Game 6 victory, Logan Couture and Head Coach Peter DeBoer had critical comments for the opposing head coach. After their morning practice both Couture and his coach made mention of Gallant "chirping" to the Sharks players. Below are some juicy quotes from the two.

“Their coach is chattering. He’s probably doing the most chattering. He’s talking to our players constantly during the game, which I haven’t seen before.”
-DeBoer on Gallant

Apparently, DeBoer felt Gallant was aiming his comments at Couture following a high-sticking call he felt was embellished. That story was corroborated by the Sharks' star player, when he was asked if it's easy to ignore Gerard (Gallant). "Yeah, I just play hockey. I don't get involved in that chirping (expletive). There's guys that do that and guys on that team and their bench, but I don't get involved in that."

This morning, Gallant gave his take on the matter and did not mince words. He seemed irritated at the allegation and the fact that DeBoer went to the media with these claims, calling it "unclassy for me" and referring to DeBoer as "that clown".

Below is downright amazing video of his reply, courtesy of Justin Emerson of the Las Vegas Sun...

Game 7 is sure to be entertaining tonight and the customary handshake line that follows every NHL playoff series will be as tense as it gets. Just imagine how hard it would be for the Golden Knights players and coaches to walk down that line, if they were to fumble a 3-1 series lead, in the event that the Sharks win this evening. Buckle up because this game should be one for the ages!
