Bob Hartley and his Avangard lost game three against CSKA on home soil being brought one step closer to the eliminations.

The GWG was scored only in the 3rd period when in the 44th minute of the game Sergei Andronov capitalized from a pass from Dahlbeck sniping it past Igor Bobkov.

Mikhail Grigorenko put an end to the game with an empty net goal.

Ilya Sorokin recorded his 2nd consecutive shutout becoming 1st goalie in KHL history to record such thing in the Gagarin Cup final.

CSKA is yet to win a Gagarin cup title despite being in the finals in 2016 and 2018. Meanwhile, Avangard flopped their chance in 2012.
