All But Eliminated, Wild Ink Sturm

The day after another demoralizing shutout loss to none other than former Wild backup goalie, Darcy Kuemper, and the Arizona Coyotes, the playoff dreams are all but over.

I know that word is until the team is mathematically eliminated the goal remains the same.

That speak is fine as long as the vision of the team's brass is getting the best possible draft position for establishing the future. By that I mean say the right things but really do the right thing which would be to let the guys who have a future here play and those that don't shut them down.

Along with that train of thought the Wild today announced the signing of Clarkson captain, Nico Stutm to his entry level deal burning a year. The 6'3", 211 lb center led the Golden Knights in scoring with 45 points, on 14 goals and 31 assists, this season. Expect Sturm to make his debut tomorrow when the Wild host Winnipeg.

Paul Fenton continues his work of making the Wild organization deeper and building a talent pool in which to draw from in the future.

All is not lost with no playoffs this year, just think we have a definite end to this season instead of wondering which game 4,5,6, or 7 they would have been eliminated in like recent years.

All kidding aside, the Wild will actually be better for not making the playoffs and who knows just maybe they might win the lottery.

...it could happen...
