Tough Weekend for the Coyotes as Playoffs Slip Away

There's never really a good time to lose five in a row, but the end of March while in the middle of a playoff race is definitely the worst time to do it.

The Coyotes needed four points this weekend, and they got one.

C'est la vie.

Which, I think loosely translated means "that was some seriously bad luck."

The Coyotes went to a shootout yesterday against the Devils after hitting two posts in overtime. They rang a shot off the post in the shootout, too, for good measure.

Then today, they did everything could, putting 31 shots on Lehner, but he stopped them all.

He even stopped Grabner on a breakaway, which usually doesn't happen.

The Coyotes gave it all they had, putting up a 65% CF in the third period, but they just couldn't beat Lehner, who is having a season for the ages.

Like Lehner, Darcy Kuemper has propped up a non-playoff team all year long. Lehner should win the Vezina walking away, but Kuemper should honestly get some votes.

He's got a .921 save percentage, and if the coach of the year goes to the coach whose team is the crappiest with the best results, then Kuemper deserves some Vezina love too.

It's been a good run, but it's not over yet. Somehow, the Coyotes are only three points back of Dallas, and two points back of Colorado *who play tonight.

There's six games to go, and the Coyotes usually win five and then lose five anyways, so we'll see how she goes!

The team gets the goaltending every night, they just need to score some goals. They scored four goal in total on their four game road trip.

I wonder what Dylan Strome is up to?
