The Arizona Coyotes will get a big boost when Derek Stepan returns to the lineup, possibly this weekend.
According to ace Athletic reporter Craig Morgan, the Coyotes top centre is almost ready to return to action.
As you may recall he suffered a body injury there a few weeks back and has been sidelined indefinitely ever since.
The Coyotes injury woes are well documented, and though they've gotten healthy in recent weeks, they're still without Stepen, Schmaltz and Raanta - three of their most important players.
The Coyotes - who have lost two in a row, although one was in overtime - will take on the Florida Panthers tonight. How does a team with Barkov, Huberdeau and Ekblad miss the playoffs every year?
Who knows, probably has something to do with having Dale "The Randy Carlyle of GMs" Tallon as their GM.
The Coyotes - who Craig Morgan also tells us are not, contrary to rumours, pursuing Nail Yakupov *(bummer, they should) really, really need to win this game.
They are only one point up on the Wild for that elusive last playoff spot, and four behind Dallas for the 7th spot.
