From my last blog...
As my mom used to say… “It’s not the IQ… it’s the I Will.”
It appears that the "I Will" is back and just in time.
Amazing how a couple of good efforts change the direction of a team. Last night’s win over the San Jose Sharks at the Shark Tank featured another solid start, resiliency in how the team answered both Sharks goals and two desperately needed points for finish the road trip with 4 out of six possible points to maintain second position in the Central Dicision.
As tough as the roadie was… the upcoming homestand is even tougher. Toronto comes a callin’ on Tuesday night, coming of a bad loss and some really bad defensive play over their past four games. Then, it’s the Pittsburgh Penguins, desperate to maintain their playoff position… certainly something they are not used to. Then it is back on the road for three… Saturday night in Winnipeg, the following Monday in Minnesota and Friday in Pittsburgh before closing out March at home against the Blue Jackets.
Yeah… not an easy stretch at all.
But the team we have seen over the past few games should be able to handle it. Next up is to reestablish the home ice advantage that Bridgestone Arena has been famous for. That starts Tuesday night… Smashville has been bringing it, time for the team to take advantage of it!
Give what we have seen, it is the next, natural step in this team’s progression. Consistent efforts in consecutive games leading to the kind of winning streak needed to be ready for a deep run in the second season.

Nashville is in second place in the Central Division, one point behind the Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg holds two games in hand over Nashville. The Preds lead St. Louis (2 GIH) by six points and Dallas (2 GIH) by eight.
Nashville currently holds the 4 seed in the Western Conference playoff race.
Impact Games Tonight – 4pm – STL @ BUF. 6pm – VAN @ DAL.

Random Notes
- Milwaukee Update – The Admirals had Ryan Ellis bobblehead night and an appearance from Gnash last night as they managed to grab a point in their OT loss to Grand Rapids. The Ad’s are two points out of the fourth and final playoff spot in the division.
- 30 and 31 – Viktor Arvidsson clinched his second 30 goal season last night.
- Better – The Preds have won four of their last six games.
- St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago – People watching in Chicago yesterday revealed that the locals can’t wait for baseball season… Green Cups and White Sox paraphernalia was everywhere, some Blackhawks stuff… but nowhere near what I have seen on previous visits.
- Recovery – Since their heartbreaking loss to San Jose last Tuesday… the Jets have won two straight and the Sharks have lost two straight.
