Do The Wild Have Life?

Clinging on to the last lifeline, the Wild host the Rangers tonight.

A winnable game and a potential confidence builder in the making. The last time the Wild and Rangers met in New York in late February the result was a 4-1 win that ended their own five game skid and sparked an eight game regulation unbeaten streak. That unbeaten streak included an impressive 3-0 shutout of the NHL leading Lightning in Tampa.

The problem is since that win Tampa, the Wild have lost three straight, being outscored 13-3 in the process.

They have also been called out by Zach Parise for not working on the powerplay that has been nonexistent for the last month. It is one thing to be unproductive on the man advantage, it is totally another story when a team operates without any strategy or plan.

Bench boss, Bruce Boudreau, looked like a defeated man after Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in what was stated as a "must win" game if the Wild were really serious about getting themselves back into playoff position.

Tonight should be interesting, do the Wild have a breath of life or have they officially mailed it in?

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
