Lindgren Recalled.... Price Injured In Practice?

Carey Price appeared to take a high riser snap shot to either the left collar bone or left side of his neck/face in practice today and looked pretty shaken up afterwards. Much of the the Canadiens season rests on the shoulders of the big man between the pipes so lets hope the injury is not serious.

Regardless, you don't blast bombs at your goalies head in practice....

Later in the day the Habs announced they've recalled battling goaltender Charlie Lindgren from Laval of the AHL. I'm not sure if this is confirmation of an injury to Price or if it's acknowledging that Niemi simply isn't able to adequately help at this point in time.

I don't really believe in coincidences, but Lindgren could be headed to MTL for either of the reasons I listed above. Lindgren comes in having posted a 11-14-1 record with a 2.94 GAA and .884 SP%.

With the recent losses to San Jose and Anaheim the Habs find themselves in must win situations until the bitter end of the season. It would be shame to see such a quality year wasted by missing the playoffs, but the reality is this was supposed to be a "reset" or "retool" or whatever they called it at the beginning of the season. The Habs have certainly shown they have more to give, but consistency is still an issue. I would have hoped that the Canadiens could have landed a top 4 level LD at the deadline, but here we are.

Sink or swim time for the Habs.
