Ducks Aim at Wild

The Ducks come to town feeling pretty good about themselves having won two of three since GM Bob Murray fired head coach Randy Carlyle and stepped behind the Ducks bench himself.

Coming off an impressive 5-2 win over the Stanley Cup Champion Capitals on Sunday, the Ducks are eyeing a playoff push. The Wild on the other hand hold the final playoff position in the West and have done their part in keeping the entire conference un the race winning just once in their past nine.

Cal O'Reilly has been recalled while Kyle Rau was sent back down to Iowa. Former Duck, Pontus Aberg has been activated from IR and is expected back in the lineup.

Anaheim won in St. Paul last month by a 3-0 count in one of the Wild's most unsettling performances of the season at the time. They have since had several such outings and appear to be a rudderless ship adrift amongst the Western Conference's also rans.

The most troubling part of the Wild's most recent skid is the level of competition has not featured any of the league's upper echelon clubs. So thinking that the Wild will somehow pull this together and make a run is a Wild pipedream.

It's Always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
