The Rangers close out what has been a disappointing home stand - depending on your view- Sunday against the Maple Leafs, If rooting for wins, then a 1-2-1 mark the first four games leaves a lot to be desired. If in favor of the "tank," then you are more annoyed by the three points as compared to the three losses in that stretch. Come Monday, two weeks remain until the trade deadline. Settle in, buckle up and get ready for what will be a wild ride. Will this be Mats Zuccarello's last home game as a NY Ranger - at least for this season? Same for Kevin Hayes or Adam McQuaid? After tonight, New York is on the road for the next four contests, returning to MSG on February 21. By then, this team could look markedly different.

Friday, New York celebrated the 25th anniversary of the 1993-94 Cup winning team. My only comment on the game is that the current squad failed to show up. With all eyes of the NHL on that game because no other team was playing and an iconic group of players, coaches, GM etc. all present, the effort by the current version of the Rangers left an inordinate amount to be desired. They should have come out of the locker room raring to go, spurred on by the ceremony, the highlights of what MSG is like when the team is good and pictures of the parade. Instead, the compete level was worse than even a normal Game 54 in the middle of February rather than a contest that should have brought way more than we saw. If that have a similar effort tonight against Toronto, they will get waxed early.

Two lineup notes below. Alexandar Georgiev, so good Wednesday against Boston, will be between the pipes again as New York gives Henrik Lundqvist another game off. In addition, we are back to an 11/7 deployment with Neal Pionk, scratched the last three games, back in, replacing Vinny Lettieri. Let's see with whom Pionk is paired and which d-man plays forward.

No update yet on K'Andre Miller, who may have suffered a devastating injury last night. Hoping it's not as bad as it looked on the video.
