I will try and keep this short and as positive as possible....

The Anaheim Ducks managed to avoid being shutout for a 5th time this season, while captain Ryan Getzlaf scored his 11th goal of the season - ending an eight-game goalless drought.

AND for the first time in three games, A Duck goalie wasn't replaced in the game. Chad Johnson stopped 28 shots in the loss.

Anaheim dropped a fifth consecutive game and fell to 0-3 on the current road trip. Brendan Gallagher had two goals and an assist, and the Montreal Canadiens skated away as 4-1 victors on home ice.

Carey Price made 24 saves for his sixth straight victory. The Habs improved to 7-1-1 in their last nine games.

Once again the game was over before it began. Montreal scored three first period goals, putting the Ducks and their pop-gun offense to bed early.

Anaheim's record fell to an abysmal 2-9-2 in 2019. They've been outscored 27-6 over the course of the current five-game skid. There's not even a single loser point to hang their hats on. Regulation losses will do that.

This team has zero compete in them.

The Ducks return to the ice on Thursday against the Ottawa Senators.
