It was just a matter of time with the new faces adding up and Luke Kunin and Joel Eriksson Ek having nothing more to prove at the AHL level. JT Brown and Nate Prosser have been placed on waivers.
The roster is one place where Fenton can use some leverage to create uncertainty within the locker room. That uneasy feeling should be at epidemic level after the loss in Dallas and last night's disappointing OT loss to the Blackhawks.
The issues are many for the Wild, from a lack of consistent scoring, to suspect goaltending at inopportune times, and a lack if discipline.
The talent is there and the opportunity is wide open for the Wild, as no one in the Western Conference really wants to step up and take control. They cannot expect that to continue though and Fenton has his work cut out for him.
He needs to make an impact move at some point, and that some point needs to be sooner rather than later.
