Caps look to extend Dominance Over Bruins - Eller Out |

|
The 27-27-7 Boston Bruins pay a visit to DC to face the 28-17-6 Washington Capitals who are coming off their first win in seven with the win last Friday night vs Calgary. Game time is 12:30 PM EST today as is traditional on Super Bowl Sunday.
Alex Ovechkin will return to action after sitting out his league-mandated suspension for skipping the All-Star game. He leads the NHL still in goals with 37. Braden Holtby will be in the net to face- off against a Bruins squad that has not beaten the Capitals since March 29, 2014. On opening night and after the banner raising the Caps hammered the Bruins 7-0 in a game which featured the Brad Marchand - Lars Eller incident.
In the second affair of the season, the Caps downed the Bruins 4-2 on January 10th. Eller tried to engage Marchand but as is the case most times Marchand drew Eller into a penalty. Eller will not play today after suffering an injury Friday night. So maybe that stuff is put to bed for a game. This is wise for the Caps as they need to stay out of the box.
Capital Gain:
D Christian Djoos is healthy enough to begin a conditioning stint in AHL Hershey and will suit up for the Bears today.
