Points Squandered, No Time For Excuses

No excuses allowed, period!

If the Wild are going to make a push to the playoffs there is no time to make excuses.

So anyone that said that Dallas had more time on the ice to prepare for last night's game than did the Wild, well that is just an excuse.

The point is the Wild played a so so game and Devan Dubnyk let the winning goal squeeze through his legs on a shot that should be stopped 100% of the time in the NHL.

I have long said it in this blog, it is not the number of goals that get past the goalie it is the type and time of those goals that have a bigger impact on the team.

Not to place full blame on Dubs because the man has played very well for the Wild over the past four seasons. But Dubnyk himself will tell you that was a puck he not only should have stopped but has to stop every time, especially at that juncture of a critical division contest.

So that point or possibly two are gone and the good news is the Wild get their chance to redeem themselves at home tonight against the Blackhawks.

We know all about the Hawks and their struggles, but they have played much better of late, winning three in a row including a big 7-3 win last night in Buffalo.

No excuses tonight, both teams played last night, and both had to travel. Tonight must be a Wild win!

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
