UPDATE - Minnesota and Carolina have swapped forwards. The Wild have acquired Victor Rask in exchange for Nino Niederreiter.

Sellers in the next blog, but as of now...here are the top ten Buyers as of today:

#10 Vegas $2.2M (Cap Space)
The excitement is back in Vegas and they are playing like a contender again. They don't have a ton of cap space, but McPhee could be aggressive...

#9 Winnipeg $4.8M
The Jets are young and can only really add rentals because they have so much money to spend in the off-season...But the window is open.

#8 Philadelphia $8.1M
Surprising that Philly, so many point out, are still buyers, but they are...There is a feeling among the organization that they can get there by adding a few pieces and cap space is something the Flyers almost never have at the deadline...If you don't believe me on this one, Bob McKenzie is also saying they aren't sellers, but buyers.

#7 Buffalo $7.3M
The Sabres really want to get back to the playoffs and it's been a long time since they have had this kind of hope.

#6 Pittsburgh $4.6M
Rutherford ALWAYS makes moves and he has at least one more in his magic hat.. Don't look now but the Penguins could be the hardest out in the playoffs...again.

#5 Toronto $3.85M
The Leafs aren't getting past the first round without adding help in their own zone...It is beyond a necessity.

#4 Edmonton $3.0M
The Oilers are facing a "MUST make the playoffs" drive. They are very actively looking for help up front AND on D.

#3 San Jose $580K
This Sharks team is really good and has a wide open window...They will need to be creative with the money, but they aren't going into the playoffs without a little more I am told.

#2 NY Islanders $9.5M
The Islanders are going to have a TON of salary issues this coming summer, but I keep hearing ownership is so happy with the performance to date that rentals are VERY much in their future as long as they stay hot through the next 30 days.

#1 Nashville $6.5M
The Preds took out the the Cup champs with ease this week...7-2. Two years ago they were in the Final, last year they were VERY close and had Rinne not had a game 7 meltdown versus the Jets they may have won it all. The Preds know their window is wide open again and they will be taking a serious shot.

What's the buzz?

Who do you think is missing off of my top ten Buyers list? Next up: Sellers.
