Philipp Grubauer will start Thursday when the Avalanche play Florida in the third game of their four-game road trip.

The GAME NOTES.

Grubauer will try to get the Avalanche back on track following their 6-3 loss Tuesday in Pittsburgh, which ended their road winning streak at six games and their point streak at 11 (9-0-2).

Grubauer has a personal eight-game streak (6-0-2) on the line, one short of his career best (7-0-2) set with Washington in 2016-17.

He hasn’t fared so well against the Panthers, posting a 1-3-1 career record against them with a 2.62 goals-against average and .899 save percentage.

The Avalanche (16-7-5) are second in the Western Conference and Central Division, two points behind Nashville.

While the Avalanche’s line of Gabriel Landeskog, Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen has been scoring in bunches, the Panthers have a potent line with Jonathan Huberdeau, Aleksander Barkov and Mike Hoffman, who have combined for 31 goals and 52 assists.

Huberdeau has a six-game multipoint streak (three goals, 11 assists) and Barkov has a five-game streak (three goals, five assists).

Rantanen has a nine-game streak (four goals, 13 assists) and leads the NHL in scoring with 46 points and assists with 35. MacKinnon is second in scoring with 43 points.

Other than Grubauer, the Avalanche will use the same lineup they did against the Penguins.

The Avalanche lineup:

Gabriel Landeskog -- Nathan MacKinnon -- Mikko Rantanen
Tyson Jost – J.T. Compher – Colin Wilson
Matt Nieto -- Carl Soderberg -- Matt Calvert
Vladislav Kamenev -- Alexander Kerfoot -- Gabriel Bourque

Samuel Girard -- Erik Johnson
Ian Cole -- Tyson Barrie
Patrik Nemeth -- Nikita Zadorov
