After the debacle against the Sabres, Carey Price said that he had some stuff to sort out upstairs and after tonight, I think one can say that he's done very well indeed! Tonight at the Saddledome, Carey Price came to play. He posted a 43 save night and no one can say he didn't give his team a chance to win tonight.

The Habs started the game pretty well scoring the first goal through no other than....

This guy never gets old does he? And the funniest thing is what Tatar has said himself:

This is what social media is all about, once upon a time, this kind of interaction never would have happened. Even though the Habs went back to the locker room leading 1-0, it wasn't a perfect first period. The got outshot 13 to 9 but as I always say, better to be outshot than outscored.

However, that period was nothing compared to the 2nd period in which shots were 19 to 8 in the Flames' favour. Of those 19 shots, a whooping 16 came from the slot. Thankfully, Carey Price stood tall and only Matthew Tkatchuk managed to dupe him twice allowing the Flames to got back to the locker room ahead 2-1.

Neither you or I were in the locker room between the 2nd and the 3rd but it seems like Claude Julien knew just what he needed to say to fire up his team. In the last frame, the Habs were once again outshot 13 to 5 but looked much more energetic and managed to find twine twice. Jonathan Drouin tied things up with his 6th goal of the year at 8:32 before Lehkonen finally managed to score his second of the year at 12:14 of the third. Price stood tall, stoping everything that the Flames threw at him in the 3rd and the Habs left Calgary with 2 very valuable points. In the end though Calgary manager 45 shots on target while Montreal was limited to 22... However, it's not about quantity, it's about quality. 40 shots in the goaltender's gut will rarely allow a team to win. I'd much rather see the Habs dominated in the shots department than on the scoreboard.

The Canadiens will now head to Vancouver for their Saturday night meeting and chances are, Carey Price will once again be manning the net. Seems like Smillie picked the right game to attend with his brand new Shea Weber jersey! Can't wait to hear what it looked like from up close!
