A quiet day in KHL up until the moment when league dropped a bomb regarding Winnipeg Jets 1st round pick of 2017 - Kristian Vesalainen.

The first wave was SKA St. Petersburgh trading 19-year old's rights to Jokerit ''Helsinki'' in exchange for monetary compensation.

Many thought that it was nothing and that the league is making its usual moves for players that are in North America and could come over to KHL during the lockout (which we all are pretty sure is happening once the current CBA runs out). Unfortunately for the Jets organization, it didn't turn out that way.

According to Finnish journalist Pekka Jalonen the young forward is triggering his out-clause to return to Europe next week and most likely that he would suit up for the Helsinki ''Jokerit'' team in the KHL. Which only makes sense given today's trade.

Hockeybuzz reached out to sources that could be familiar with the situation but confirmation was not received by any of those, However, one fueled the speculation a little more by stating the following:
''Money paid to acquire players rights was significant enough to believe that such move is in the works''

Meanwhile, ''Jokerit'' Helsinki representatives refused to comment on the situation admitting that they have no rights to talk publicly about a player under NHL contract and we will know more only when and if any sort of a move will be made in future.

Vesalainen's out clause kicks in on Saturday, November 17th.

Vesalainen has appeared in five games with the Jets this season collecting an assist along the way but has spent most part of the season so far playing for the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League recording three goals and five assists in eight games.
