Los Angeles is next up for the Wild after dropping a 4-3 defeat in An Jose Tuesday night. Minnesota won the first meeting 4-1, two weeks ago in St. Paul. The Wild win snapped a three game Kings win streak over the Wild, winning all three a year ago, with two going to overtime.

The Kings have won 3 of 4 since the last time these two played and they made a change behind the bench, firing Head coach, John Stevens, and his assistant, Don Nachbaur. Stevens and Nachbaur were the scapegoats having inherited a team that was better suited to play former Kings bench boss, Darryl Sutter.

Ilya Kovalchuk is heating up, just in time for new Kings coach, Willie Desjardins to look like a genius. Kovalchuk has three goals and six assists over the last four games, and appears to be rounding into form after a slow start in his return to the NHL.

The Wild played another solid road game in San Jose, and quite honestly deserved to come out of the game with at least a point. Eric Staal missed the game Tuesday due to illness, the first game he has missed since coming to the Wild.

Staal is expected back in the Wild lineup tonight, sending Matt Hendricks back to the press box.

Wild projected lines:
Zucker-Staal-Niederreiter
Parise-Koivu-Granlund
ErikssonEk-Coyle-Greenway
Foligno-Fehr-Brown

Suter-Dumba
Brodin-Spurgeon
Seeler-Pateryn

Dubnyk
Stalock
