KHL best players of the week

Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) has once again named their best players of the week - this time for week nine. This time the honors have gone to goalie Vasili Kosheckin, defender Darren Dietz and Russian forward Denis Parshin.

Best goalie of week nine represents Metallurg Magnitogorsk. In three games Kosheckin he helped his team win three victories stopping 96.7% of the shots he faced. Metallurg team currently holds 5th place in the eastern conference.


On the defensive line, the award went to defencemen who represents Barys Astana - Darren Dietz. In four games played he helped his team earn three victories while collected 5 points (2+3) as well as a positive rating of +3. This season he is the 2nd in scoring for his team and leading in assists. In eastern conference, Barys holds the 4th spot.



Best forward of the week is the 32-year-old Denis Parshin. In three games his team earned two victories as he scored 4 goals and recorded two assists with a rating of +2 which also has helped him to reach the status of the highest scoring player on the team. His team sits in 7th place in the east.


The only representative from the western conference is young Yaroslavl Lokomotiv defender - Maxim Afanasiev who has been named rookie of the week. In three games he earned an assist while averaging 17:26 minutes a game. His team sits 4th in the west.
