New York looks for their fourth win in a row tonight against the Canadiens. Montreal comes in off a 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders on Monday and are led by Max Domi, son for former Ranger, Tie Domi. Following Tuesday's game, the Blueshirts are off until Friday when they face Detroit on the road followed by a game in Columbus the next evening.

Practice lines Monday with Brett Howden out :
Namestnikov-Zibanejad-Zuccarello
Kreider-Hayes-Buchnevich
Vesey-Spooner-Fast
McLeod-Nieves-Lettieri

Staal-Pionk (Fredrik Claesson rotating in)
Skjei-DeAngelo
Smith-Shattenkirk

With all the concern about Filip Chytil not on the list above and also, why he isn't moving up to the third line in place of Howden, Brett Cyrgalis tweeted:

PP Lines with Howden out (posted by Colin Stephenson of Newsday):
PP1: 20, 36, 93, 23 and 44 at the point, with 89 rotating in for 23
PP2: 26, 13, 72, 77 and 22. 22 is at the point, 77 on the wing

David Quinn post-practice press conference:

Brett Howden:

As of now, Howden is likely out today due to precautionary reasons. Given the potential onset of a concussion a few days after the hit, sitting Howden is prudent. In fact, having him out for a few days to be safe might be a wise course of action. With Howden sidelined, Boo Nieves, who just donned a regular practice jersey, not yet ready to return and Ryan Spooner possibly not able to go depending on his lower-body injury reacts to Monday's practice, New York dipped into the minors and called up a familiar face.

Rangers promote Lias Andersson :

To make room for Andersson, New York placed Adam McQuaid on injured reserve. With Nieves and Claesson still in New York and technically on IR, the Rangers have 25 skaters, including McQuaid. Once Nieves is ready to go, if Andersson sticks, Boo and possibly Vinni Lettieiri could head to the minors. I actually thought Steven Fogartyy, who is having a fine season in Hartford, would get the nod, but with Hartford not playing until Friday and Saturday, Andersson was promoted and should slot into to the fourth line center role tomorrow with Chytil as the third line center. We could see Andersson centering the third line with Chytil on the wing and either Vesey or Fast slide down to the fourth line, though that is less likely. That configuration would only remain while Howden is sidelined, as Howden is the clear third line center when healthy.
