Fans are coming to see McDavid but many are secretly hoping to see the Jets PP come alive. After 3 games and 8 times short-handed the Oilers are 31st in the league on the PK.

The Jets have bee a bit listless on offense and while they have moments of brilliance the fallout from the Carolina game is nothing but concern over play and shot generation. That 3-1 win was brought to you by Laurent Brossoit.

One issue that needs to get figured out is the play and role for Nik Ehlers. The Great Dane has been left behind in some regards and lost in others. He should shoot more but he should also gain the zone like he's done in the past or simply something more?

The Jets are a team that many thought would pick up where they left off last off season. Well in some cases they are, having trouble scoring and getting shut down just like Vegas did to them in 4 of 5 games. There's a bit of an identity crisis hangover for the team- they can't seem to figure out what went wrong then and that's happening a bit now.

Look it's not all bad, it's just confusing but there are glimmers of hope- they can find moments of brilliance like the Morrissey pas to Little. They also have areas of concern like the defense pairings and matchups. Morrow and Myers still tend to be a choose your own adventure type novel and Chiarot Kulikov was far from palatable.

Will time heal this all? Tonight marks the second of 6 games at home but against the premier player in the league not named Auston Matthews. It's a test to see how the Jets respond to that level of individual talent. Are they going to finally rise together?

The basic fact is, there are questions about this team that no one thought would exist at this time. The feeling or belief was that they Jets would be better and fixed from last May and ready to storm back to the top. Let's remember that they didn't get there early last season and given some of the deficiencies in certain areas they likely will not for a bit if at all. Reality, we all need to live in it.

Let's bid a fond farewell to Marko Dano who has hopefully found better pastures in Denver. I'm amazed that something could not be done to get something for young Dano but in Chevy we Trust?

It seems to me that the package of DAno and Myers should be the firs thing Chevy tries to sell but what do I know other than I have to watch Myers still while Dano gets freedom. Something doesn't seem right in the logical world of hockey team logistics.
