**************

Playing the second half of back-to-back games, Jim Montgomery's Dallas Stars (3-2-0) are in Newark on Tuesday night to take on John Hynes' unbeaten New Jersey Devils (3-0-0). Game time at the Prudential Center is 6:00 p.m. CDT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.

The Stars enter this game coming off a disappointing performance in a 4-1 loss in Ottawa in Monday. Dallas scored first on a John Klingberg power play tally and generally played well in the opening 20 minutes but Ottawa was the more opportunistic team as the game progressed.

The Senators tied the game in the final 20 seconds of the middle frame on a puck that deflected in off Stars defenseman Julius Honka and then pulled away in the third. Ben Bishop stopped 20 of 23 shots in a losing cause before the Senators tacked on an empty-netter. Craig Anderson stopped 37 of 38 Dallas salvos to earn the win in goal. Tyler Seguin had eight shots on goal for Dallas.

Klingberg, who has points in each of the Stars' five games to date, tied a franchise record for longest season-opening point streak by a defenseman. Darryl Sydor first set the mark in 1998-99.

With the Stars playing a back-to-back, Anton Khudobin could get the nod in net on Tuesday.

The Stars' lineup in Ottawa:

14 Jamie Benn - 91 Tyler Seguin - 15 Blake Comeau
43 Valeri Nichushkin - 90 Jason Spezza - 47 Alexander Radulov
13 Mattias Janmark - 12 Radek Faksa - 18 Tyler Pitlick
17 Devin Shore - 16 Jason Dickinson - 25 Brett Ritchie

23 Esa Lindell - 3 John Klingberg
33 Marc Methot - 6 Julius Honka
4 Miro Heiskanen - 5 Connor Carrick

30 Ben Bishop
[35 Anton Khudobin]

Healthy scratches: 24 Roope Hintz, 45 Roman Polak, 46 Gemel Smith.

The Devils enter this game coming off a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Sunday. Kyle Palmieri's second goal of the game knotted the score at 2-2 in the opening minute of the third period and Jean-Sabastien Dea scored what proved to be the game-winner three minutes later. Keith Kinkaid turned back 37 of 38 shots to earn the victory in goal, including 15 first period saves and 10 in the third period.

New Jersey goaltender Corey Schneider remains day-today. The Devils are without standout young forward Jesper Bratt due to injury. He will skate on his own later this week. Season season burgeoning star Nico Hischier is probable to play against the Stars.

If Palmieri records at least two points in Tuesday's game, he will become the first player in Devils franchise history to open a season with four straight multi-point games.
