With new head coach Jim Montgomery at the helm, the Dallas Stars (0-0-0) begin the 2018-19 regular season on Thursday night against the visiting Arizona Coyotes (0-0-0) at the American Airlines Center in Big D. Game time is 7:30 p.m. CDT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.

Last season, the Stars went a perfect 3-0-0 in their season series with the Coyotes. Overall, Dallas brings a 10-game winning streak at the AAC against the Coyotes into this opening-night tilt.

The Coyotes are already dealing with some key injuries. Alex Galchenyuk and Jakob Chychrun will start the season on injured reserve. Likewise, Christian Dvorak and Josh Archibald are on season-opening IR. In the meantime, 2018 first-round pick Barrett Hayton earned a spot on the Coyotes' opening-night roster but is expected to be a healthy scratch in head coach Rick Tocchet's lineup in Dallas.
