The Ottawa Senators are at it again. Their banner offseason continues

The idea of moving on from Zack Smith isn’t problematic, but if guys like Matt Duchene are pissed off about it you are going all in on being an atrocious franchise. The problem Ottawa faces is that the lottery odds aren’t great anymore for tanking (they will be bad for a long time) and the people in charge (Melnyk) are not suited to perform the task of a full rebuild. Everything sucks about Ottawa right now.

Pittsburgh made some cuts per their official site.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reduced their training camp roster to 27 players, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Pittsburgh assigned 18 players to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, including forwards Tobias Lindberg, Jimmy Hayes, Adam Johnson, Joseph Cramarossa, Thomas Di Pauli, Teddy Blueger, Sam Miletic, Sam Lafferty, Anthony Angello, Linus Olund, Garrett Wilson and Ryan Haggerty; defensemen Chris Summers, Stefan Elliott, Will O'Neill, Jeff Taylor and Ethan Prow; and goaltender John Muse.

Lindberg, Summers, Muse, Elliott, Hayes, Prow and Wilson all must clear waivers before they can join WBS.

The Penguins also terminated the contract of forward Frederik Tiffels.

No surprises here. There weren’t really any jobs up for grab this year.

I warned you all yesterday not to turn your back on Gritty!
