The Bruins will have a pair of veterans looking for a roster spot after signing Lee Stempniak and Daniel Winnik to professional tryout agreements Monday morning.

Stempniak is a veteran of 13 seasons, including 19 games with the Bruins in the 2015-16 season after he was traded from the New Jersey Devils. Stempniak had three goals and 10 points in those 19 games.

After leaving the Bruins in the summer of 2016, Stempniak signed a two-year deal with the Carolina Hurricanes. Stempniak enjoyed a successful first season in Carolina. The 35 year-old has 16 goals and 40 assists in 82 games. His 2017-18 season didn't go as well as Stempniak scored just three times in 37 games.

Stempniak has been skating of late at Warrior Ice Arena, the Bruins practice facility.

After two seasons with the Washington Capitals, Winnik spent last season with the Minnesota Wild where he appeared in 81 games with 23 points.

The signings shouldn't be anything to read into in what already will be a competitive training camp for the Bruins. Adding a pair of veterans to the mix and seeing what they have left is never a bad thing.

David Krejci won't be going to China

When the Bruins takeoff for China later this week to play in two preseason games with the Calgary Flames, David Krejci won't be making the trip as originally planned. Due to some visa issues, Krejci will ne unable to make the trip, being replaced by Colby Cave. Krejci will now appear in the Bruins domestic preseason games that are set to kickoff next week.
