NY ISLANDERS has just announced that Mitch Korn has been named Director of Goaltending.


He actually comes back to New York. He was born in the Bronx.

He comes in with oversight on new hire Piero Greco. Korn has worked with many elite goaltenders like Hasek, Rinne, Fuhr, and Braden Holtby. He is considered one of the best in the business.





While Lou has re-signed Brock Nelson to a "show-me" one year deal for $4.25 million and hired Toronto Marlies Goaltending coach Piero Greco, the rest of Isles twitter is all about what is on the 3rd jersey.

That is where the debate gets heated as there are rumors that the 3rd jersey might encompass the Fishstick era and style. This for many fans is an outrage. For others, they don't see an issue because it was so long ago.

According to a source in the know, the Isles 3rd jersey will NOT be fish sticks related.

Unfortunately, that rumor is wrong as well. Sometimes @icethetics is right on the money. But I am told not this time. The 3rd jersey's primary color is NOT orange.
