The Avalanche on Monday announced they’ve signed three minor leaguers -- defensemen Mason Geertsen and Ryan Graves, and goaltender Spencer Martin -- to one-year contracts for the 2018-19 season.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Geertsen, 23, had nine points (three goals, six assists) in 72 games with San Antonio of the AHL last season. He was the Avalanche’s fourth-round pick (No.93) in the 2013 NHL draft.
The Avalanche acquired Graves, 23 from the New York Rangers for defenseman Chris Bigras on Feb. 26. He had six points (one goal, five assists) in 21 games with San Antonio. He had 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 57 games with Hartford of the AHL before the trade.
The 6-4, 220-pound Graves was the Rangers’ fourth-round pick (No. 110) in 2013. He has 68 points (22 goals, 46 assists) in 228 career AHL games.
Martin, 23, is entering his fourth season in the Colorado organization after being taken in the third round (No. 63) of the 2013 draft. He went 14-15-4 in 34 games with San Antonio last season with a 3.10 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage. He’s 40-48-9 in 102 career AHL games with a 2.93 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage.
Martin, who is 6-3 and 210 pounds, has a 0-2-1 career record with the Avalanche, posting a 4.35 goals-against average and a .865 save percentage.
