Now that we're deep into summer, it doesn't take long to sum up the latest Canucks news:

• No word yet on a new contract for Troy Stecher. His arbitration hearing is just under two weeks away, on July 29.

• It might not be too much longer before we get the word on whether or not Quinn Hughes turns pro before the upcoming season.

• Two days till our next round of action at Da Beauty League. I'm blown away by what a great job their organizers have done of raising the profile of their program, from livestreaming the games to a steady stream of social media content.

Over the weekend, they ran a poll on Instagram stories, asking where people were watching from. The most popular answer? Vancouver. The Brockstar draws eyeballs!

Boeser's Team Bic plays in the late game this Wednesday, at 5 p.m. PT. They'll face TRIA, which dropped a 5-3 decision to Team Velocity in Week 1. The most notable names on TRIA are Nick Leddy and Zach Parise. Like Boeser, Parise's Week 1 appearance marked his first time back on the ice after recovering from injury. After undergoing back surgery during the season, Parise was knocked out of the playoffs when he fractured his sternum in Game 3 of the Wild's first-round playoff series against Winnipeg. Over the weekend, Parise declared himself "100 percent."

Last weekend was also a big one for weddings—including Sven Baertschi marrying his longtime girlfriend Laura in Portland, where he played his junior hockey.

Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Baertschi ! #baecomingbaertschi 🐻 🧀

Guests included current Canucks Bo Horvat and Brandon Sutter, as well as Baertschi's Swiss compatriots and former teammates Luca Sbisa (if you squint, you can spot him in the back corner of the picture with the pedi-cab contraption) and Yannick Weber.

Weber's girlfriend, Kayla Price, was a bridesmaid.

Meanwhile, Sam Gagner and his wife took part in the wedding of Sam's sister, Jessica—who played hockey for four years herself at Dartmouth.

EDIT: One final note for today:

Jim Benning traded Holm to Vegas in exchange for Brendan Leipsic at the trade deadline. That could be a nice win if Leipsic does end up landing in Vancouver's top six next season!
