TRADE ALERT: @JayZawaski670
Tommy Wingels has been traded to Boston for a 5th round pick. #NHLTrade

JL Thoughts: Stan is able to get something for Wingels to build to 9 picks in this year's draft. I'll reiterate what I've reported earlier, I've heard Wingels would love to sign back in Chicago, so he'll head out for the Spring to make a run with BOS and can re-up with CHI this summer.

TRADE ALERT: Hartman plus Hawks' 5th Rd pick in 2018 to Nashville for 1st RD pick in 2018 plus Victor Edjsell plus 4th Rd pick in 2018

JL Thoughts: really impressed Stan was able to get a 1st rounder out of him. There were rumours that Hartman was "difficult" at times and was falling out of favour with Coach Quenneville.

Victor Edjsell could be a sneaky good pick up by Stan as well.

As per Dobberhockey - here is the breakdown on the hulking Swede forward = https://dobberprospects.com/victor-ejdsell/

UPDATE: @JustinLoweHB

Hartman traded to #Preds as per @FriedgeHNIC.

Waiting on return.

UPDATE: @FriedgeHNIC
Sounds like CHI/NASH working on something...Ryan Hartman is someone who interest the Predators

JL Thoughts: Go on, Elliotte.

UPDATE: @ByScottPowers
The ice getting prepared at the Blackhawks practice facility. Hawks scheduled to practice at 11 a.m.

JL Thoughts: the Hawks hit the ice soon - keep an eye on who's missing at practice. It's been very quiet this morning but one would have to think that Stan has a couple trades ready to go here soon.

UPDATE: @ByScottPowers
The Blackhawks’ asking price for Ryan Hartman is said to be a first-round pick plus something, according to a source.

JL Thoughts: if Hartman was having the year he had last year, I could see it. However, with him being in and out of the lineup, that price seems high. With that being said, there is no question that the Hawks are looking to move on from Hartman.

UPDATE: @MarkLazerus
Per a source, the #CBJ did indeed inquire about Artem Anisimov's availability, but only offered a third-round pick, and wanted the Blackhawks to retain half Anisimov's salary. Went nowhere. Anisimov was approached about waiving his NMC, though.

JL Thoughts: I will continue to stick by my thoughts on moving Anisimov; it has to make sense with the return, I wouldn't deal him just to deal him. If true, a 3rd round pick is a serious low ball by CBJ.

I would want a player who is close or has potential to play Top 6 (and pref. a C) or if a D with Top 4 qualities.

Happy Deadline Day everyone!

I don’t know how excited we should all feel today, but I would be surprised if nothing happen at all from the Blackhawks corner.

For the first time in a decade, the Hawks are sellers. This is the first time Stan has been a true seller since he took over here as GM. With that in mind, I heard he wanted to try to take advantage of being in this position to get the Hawks picks/prospects or assets to continue to get younger and faster for next year.

Since the tidbit I received on Crawford potentially going on the LTIR to clear salary space to help out another team (which now sounds unlikely to happen), it’s been very quiet. Does that mean Stan can’t find a partner to trade with? Maybe his prices are too high? Or, maybe he’s got a bunch of things cooking today and will pull the trigger throughout the day.

Regardless of what’s happening out there, use this blog as your up-to-date trade analysis as they happen, as well as a discussion for rumours. I will also be keeping tabs on ex-Hawks as well as larger trades in the NHL and how they may affect the Hawks in the future.

I’ll be around all day.

See ya out there!

JL
