Vancouver opened camp yesterday, with the most calming words for Canucks fans coming out of the mouths of Ryan Kesler and Kevin Bieksa – by the way, is it just me, or does Bieksa look jacked this season?

To sum it up, the pair basically called last season an embarrassment and that they were looking to make all doubters of this team eat their words.

I personally love hearing that out of this team, as it seemed throughout most of last season there was an excuse for everything in order to deflect away for their hearts just not being in it 100%.

This team has the fire now. And that is either going to burn them up or burn the opposition up.

I'm guessing that it will be the opposition.

Other highlights, the Sedin are actually looking forward to killing penalties and blocking shots. Kind of makes you wonder if it's something they are willing to do now, why were they doing it before? Perhaps, a certain other coach was discouraging it all while encouraging “other antics” throughout the lineup.

Torts added that when you've got a Sedin blocking shots, that impact will be felt by the entire team and that everyone will be feeling ten feet tall.

If you feel like watching the 90 minute video, here it is

Sedins and Lu start things off, Bieksa and Kesler are at the 32 minute mark, Gillis and Tortorella at 1 hour 17 minute mark.

What caught your ear in the press conference?

Until tomorrow my friends, stay classy

Ian
