Greetings Habs addicts!

It has been a while since I've written anything but I've been hard at work putting together a few things. More on that below but, for now, the thought that tonight was supposed to be the season opener for the Habs is, at the very least, a sad thought.

When it comes to the current CBA fiasco, there really hasn't been much to say. Not unless you basically want to regurgitate the same morsel of news that everyone else jumps all over.

We all know the process is mostly stalled and that the two sides seem to be entrenching themselves, at least publicly.

For me, what has been palpable is the level of frustration on both sides, clearly feeling their counterpart is being unreasonable. If you caught Bill Daly being interviewed after yesterday's CBA sessions, he was noticably agitated. He went on to say that while they were discussed non-core economic issues yesterday, they didn't even make much progress there.

That aside, the most salient thing I've seen or read about the CBA lately, was a recent stream of tweets from TSN's Bob Mackenzie.

He said, and I quote, "My instincts say we'll lose the whole year but we've still got a month or two to salvage a Dec or Jan start up, so we'll see."

Mackenzie went on to say "I suspect we'll see our first real movement from either side in coming week but whether that creates legit traction for talks, who knows? At this point, I don't doubt either side's resolve. That may be the problem. Owners think players will cave. Players think owners will cave. I think, like last time, we'll lose the season before anyone blinks."

The most damning thing that he said however was "Biggest fear, and maybe this why it won't last all season, is if it goes whole season, prospects of 2nd season being affected are high IMO."

Yikes.

If there is one thing I have learned it is that most rumours and stories aren't true unless Bob Mackenzie says them. And while this is merely his opinion, he's a smart hockey guy and is very close to everyone involved in the negotiations.

So take a deep breath, folks, because this could get really ugly.

An Announcement

I know I've done the equivalent of hiding under a rock the last few months, but it hasn't been in vain! For those of you who follow my work, you know about my site, HabsAddict.com.

I've been hard at work hiding a little secret that I will now let you in on...I sold my site!

Over the course of the summer, HabsAddict.com was purchased by a company called WebSports Media Network (WSMN).

WSMN is an online radio and television station whose flagship product, Montreal Hockey Talk, is going to be relaunching tonight, October 11, 2012, in a star studded affair at the new studio.

I have actually come on board WSMN as their C.O.O., but will continue to write about the Habs.

In a matter of weeks, we will be unveiling a new HabsAddict.com web site, which will appear as a branded portal under MontrealHockeyTalk.com.

If you're not familiar with Montreal Hockey Talk, it is a raw, edgey, uncensored Habs post-game show.

We also have a Week in Review hosted by Ted Bird, a French post-game show hosted by Jean Page and Jean Perron in addition to a pre-game hosted by my Hockeybuzz.com colleagues, Eric Engels and Steven Hindle, along with former NHLer Bobby Dollas.

And that's just the starting point! We'll have plenty more hockey content coming down the pipe and be branching into other sports such as MMA, boxing, football and more!

But to start things off, we're having a out two-hour MHT relaunch show tonight (October, 11, 2012), where we'll be introducing the many voices that will be in and out of the show this year and going forward.

Names like Chris Nilan, Bobby Dollas, Rick Moffat and many, many more.

To listen to the show live, starting October 11, 2012 at 8 PM EST click on this link and then LISTEN LIVE, on the left hand side.

You can also click play below to listen live:

I hope to see you on the chat for tonight's show!
