Flyers third-round draft pick Shayne Gostisbehere has been been arguably the most impressive-looking player in the skill-related drills at the organization's so far development camp this week.

The Union College defensemen is far from the biggest player on the ice but he has a certain "it" factor not only in his raw skills but the poise and confidence with which he handles himself. He's an impressive and seemingly mature-beyond-his-years young man.

On the ice, he's got an explosive shot and makes NHL-caliber passes. He is also a quick and elusive skater with a quick change of direction. Off the ice, he exudes strong self-confidence without coming off as cocky. He knows the knocks that undersized players -- especially defensemen -- often get during their prospect years, and he is determined to change that perception. He also takes pride in being a born-and-raised Floridian; still a relative rarity even at the collegiate level of hockey.

Today on Philadelphiaflyers.com, I have profiled Gostisbehere (whose French-descended surname is pronounced "GOST-iss-bear" but, at Union, is nicknamed "Ghostbuster" or simply "Ghost"). Click here for more.

Yesterday's profile looked at 2012 first-round pick Scott Laughton. Next up will be Taylor Leier.
